M. A. Moon dies at age 55

Mrs. Charles (Mary Ann Deters) Moon, 55, of Effingham died Wednesday, October 24, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

The funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincolnland-Heartland Service Area or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mrs. Moon was born October 6, 1935, in Teutopolis, the daughter of Henry and Mayme (Zerrusen) Deters. She married Charles Moon in 1955 in Teutopolis.

She was a floor supervisor at Whitehouse Garment Factory and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham.

Surviving are her husband; son, Joseph of Effingham; daughter, Pam Rieman of Watson; mother of Teutopolis; brothers, Clete and Arthur, both of Teutopolis; sisters, Luella Will of Lillyville, Rosemary Greuel of Sigel and Delores Will of Heartville; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.
