F. Bloemer dies at age 68
Francis Joseph "Bud" Bloemer, 68, of Effingham died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, January 10, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Effingham.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or St. Anthony schools, Effingham.
Mr. Bloemer was born January 22, 1922, in Effingham, the son of Joseph and Anna (Niebrugge) Bloemer. He married Marie E. Probst in 1949 in Island Grove.
Mr. Bloemer was a dairy farmer and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham County Coon Hunters Association and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Oscar, Donald, Ronald and Tony, all of Effingham; daughters, Mrs. Louis (Darlene) Esker, Mrs. Ron (Carol) Wendt, Mrs. Rem (Marilyn) Woodruff, Mrs. Bill (Theresa) Hardiek and Mrs. Thomas (Rosalie) Westendorf, all of Effingham, Cindy Bloemer at home, Mrs. Phil (Linda) Stalling of Watson, Mrs. Mike (Shirley) Olerich of San Jose, California, Mrs. Joe (Patty) Jansen of Mason, Mrs. Bruce (Julie) Willenborg of St. Charles, Missouri, Mrs. Bruce (Connie) Albright of Naperville; brother, John of Effingham; sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Minnie) Kinkelaar, Katherine Doedtman, Mrs. Raymond (Gert) Probst and Mrs. Leonard (Gustie) Unkraut, all of Effingham, Mrs. Bernard (Florence) Probst of Wheeler; and fifteen grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by one daughter, one sister and two brothers.
