Louis Bloemer dies Jan. 23 Louis F. Bloemer, 75, of rural Teutopolis died at 9:55 a.m. Monday, January 23 at his home. The funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Effingham with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice of Lincolnland Heartland Service Area. Mr. Bloemer was born in Effingham County, September 16, 1913, the son of Joseph and Anna (Niebrugge) Bloemer. He married Isabell Doedtman in 1941. He was a section hand for Illinois Central Railroad for 38 years, a farmer and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife; sons Jim and Jerry, both of Effingham, Bernie of Sullivan, Larry of Troy, Ralph of Pana; daughter Mrs. Lynn (Annie) Harrelson of Brighton; brothers John and Francis "Bud", both of Effingham; sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Minnie) Kinkelaar, Katherine Doedtman, Mrs. Raymond (Gert) Probst and Mrs. Leonard (Gustie) Unkraut, all of Effingham, Mrs. Bernard (Florence) Probst of Wheeler, and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. |
