MRS. BARNEY SCHOENHOFF DIES

Mrs. Barney Schoenhoff passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Borries, with whom she had made her home, about 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 27, 1939. Her age at the time of her death was 83 years, 10 months and 28 days. She had been in failing health for the past six months but had been bedfast only during the past few weeks.

Kathrine Nacke was born July 29, 1855, in Teutopolis, as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Nacke. On February 5, 1880 she was united in marriage to Barney Schoenhoff in the Catholic Church in Teutopolis. This union was blessed with five children: Mary died at the age of 3; Ferdinand at the age of 1 and Anna (Mrs. Frank Grunloh) died April 13, 1923. Mr. Schoenhoff passed to the Great Beyond on October 2, 1927. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. John (Catherine) Weis and Mrs. Jake (Elizabeth) Borries; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Teutopolis.

Mrs. Schoenhoff was a devout and faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church throughout her long life, being affiliated with the Third Order of St. Francis and the St. Ann's Married Ladies Sodality of the parish for a great many years. She was a model wife and mother and an appreciative friend and neighbor. During the past few years her eyesight began to fail, however she was always able to get around and her chief delight was attending services at her church.

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) morning from St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, a Requiem High Mass being sung at 8:15 o'clock. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery here.
