MARRIED SATURDAY

Miss Rosemary Deters daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Deters of Teutopolis and Leonard Greuel son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Greuel of Green Creek were married at 8 a.m. Saturday at a nuptial high mass in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Father Ralph Scherrer, O.F.M., performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with multi-colored gladioli. The church choir sang at the mass and "Ave Maria" at the offertory.

The bride was attended by her sisters, Miss Louella Deters, as maid of honor, and Miss Eileen Deters as bridesmaid. The groom had as his best man, his brother, Louis Greuel, and ushers were Cletus Deters, brother of the bride, and Charles Moon. Lois Stodden and Albert Stodden, niece and nephew of the groom, acted as flower girl and ring bearer.

The bride's princess gown was of white slipper satin, with satin pleating edging the sweatheart neckline and forming a point over the hands. The skirt was full and ended in a long train. She wore a fingertip veil edged with Chantilly lace, which fell from a cap held in place with orange blossoms. She carried white roses.

The attendant's gowns were identical except for color, and were of chiffon over satin. They featured shawl collars edged with lace, and the same wide lace edged the cap sleeves. The gowns had full, gathered skirts. They wore sweetheart bonnets to match their gowns. The honor attendant wore green, and the bridesmaid, yellow. Both carried yellow carnations.

The flower girl's gown was made similar to that of the attendants, and was of orchid organdy over taffeta. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed summer flowers. The ring bearer wore a white suit and carried the rings on a white satin pillow trimmed with lace.

Men in the wedding party wore light business suits, and white carnation boutonnieres.

The bride's mother was gowned in navy blue, and the mother of the groom in brown. Both wore white carnation corsages.

Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served to the immediate families at the home of the bride's parents. A reception was held there also at 1 p.m. A wedding dance for the young couple was held Saturday night at the Thoele pavilion.

Mrs. Greuel is a graduate of Teutopolis High School in 1945 and attended Eastern State College at Charleston. She has been teaching in the Teutopolis unit.

Mr. Greuel is engaged in farming and the couple will reside with his parents temporarily.
