Cora Bailey

ATLANTA - Cora V. Bailey, 80, of Atlanta died at 3:37 a.m. yesterday (April 4, 1990) at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, the Rev. Ron C. Melzer officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, rural Ellsworth.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bailey was born June 5, 1909, in Campbellsville, Ky., the daughter of Shive and Emma Grammer Satterfield. She married Roscoe Bailey June 5, 1926, in McLean County. He died in 1963.

Surviving are four daughters, Alberta Wheeler and Martha Embery, both of Atlanta; Rosie Rogers, McLean; and Gail Denny, LeRoy; four sons, Roscoe E., Exeter, Mo.; Cecil A., Danville, Va.; Larry, Waynesville; and Robert D., Chapparal, N.M.; 33 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two sons, one grandson, one granddaughter, four brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

She was employed at Dixie Truckers Home, McLean, for several years and later worked at Country Aire Restaurant in Atlanta.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad.
