MRS. HENRY ZERRUSEN DEAD Mrs. Henry Zerrusen passed away about 9 o'clock Saturday evening, March 23, 1946, at St. Anthony's Hospital at Effingham, where she had been a patient for about a week, however she had been in failing health for some time. Emma Swingler was born Feb. 2, 1900 in Cumberland Co., east of Sigel, as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Swingler, nee Elizabeth Stuckey. On Nov. 14, 1922 she was united in marriage to Henry Zerrusen of St. Francis Township and after their marriage the couple resided on their farm southeast of Teutopolis continually. They became the parents of six children. Mrs. Zerrusen was a devoted wife and mother and a faithful member of St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, being affiliated with St. Ann's Sodality of the parish. Surviving are her sorrow-stricken husband and children, namely: Loretta, Junavere, Norbert, Gerald, Jeanette and Betty Ann, all at home; her mother: Mrs. Jos. Swingler of Sigel; a brother: Arnold of Sigel; a sister: Mrs. Victor Walk of Neoga; two half-brothers: Joseph Swingler of Muenster, Texas; and William Swingler of Griffith, Ind., besides numerous other relatives and friends. One half-brother: Martin Swingler, besides her father, has preceded her in death. Pall-bearers were nephews of the deceased, namely: Sylvester, Edwin and Leonard Zerrusen, Louis Herboth, Wilbert and Harold Swingler. Flower girls were nieces and neighbor girls: Maxine and Norma Jean Walk, Dorothy and Barbara Zerrusen, Luella and Rosemary Deters, Nadine, Rosella and Marita Swingler, Rosella Kemme and Dolores Pals. Among the relatives and friends from out-of-town who attended the funeral services were: Father Crowley, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Walk and Mr. and Mrs. John Walk of Neoga; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Meislahn, Mr. and Mrs. Enmund Flach, and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Tays of Montrose; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Weldton of Mattoon; Mrs. Henry Niebrugge, Mrs Mildred Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stuckey, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stuckey, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herboth, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Herboth and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Niebrugge of Effingham; Mrs. Mike Einhorn and Mrs. Arthur Lobmeier of Island Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Swingler of Griffith, Ind.; Mrs. Margaret Breeze and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stuckey of Decatur; Mrs. Joseph Swingler, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Swingler of Sigel; and many others from Sigel and this vicinty whose names we were unable to get. Funeral services for Mrs. Zerrusen, who was 46 years, 1 month and 21 days at the time of her death were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the form of a Requiem High Mass in St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, with interment taking place in the parish cemetery. Rev. Egbert Huster, O.F.M., pastor of the parish, officiated.
