Bernard Joseph Schroeder
The death of Bernard Joseph Schroeder occured at the residence of his son-in-law Anton Zerusen five miles southeast of Teutopolis Tuesday evening at 5 o'clock. Death was caused principally from old age, though he suffered from a stroke of paralysis for several weeks previous to his death.
He was born in Munster, Germany, on December 20th, 1826. He was married in his native land and two children were born to the union, one son and one daughter. Together with his wife they made their home with their son in Germany until the son's death about 12 years ago, when they came to America and resided with their daughter, Mrs. Anton Zerusen. He had many friends here who will regret to know of his death. He leaves a wife, daughter and son-in-law to mourn their loss.
The funeral took place from the Catholic church this morning, the interment being in the Catholic cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
