Prominent Young People Married Here This Week At St. Francis Catholic Church

ZERRUSEN-PRUEMER

Tuesday morning April 9, 1922, occurred the marriage of Mr. Ferd H. Zerrusen and Miss Mary Pruemer, at St. Francis Church, Teutopolis, Ill. Mr. Henry Zerrusen, brother of the groom and Miss Kathryn Pruemer, sister of the bride, acted as witnesses. Rev. Theodosius Plassmeyer O. F. M., pastor of St. Francis Church, performed the ceremony and celebrated nuptial Mass. After Mass breakfast was served for the wedding party at Henry Schoenhoff's.

An all day wedding feast was observed at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Pruemer, to which forty families had been invited. The newly-weds received hearty congratulations from their friends and the bride was the recipient of many presents. During the afternoon all guests could dance the light fantastic in good old fashion on the new barn floor and in the evening the young folks had the opportunity to trip the free wedding dance on Jos. Buehnerkemper's big platform that is put down about a mile east of town. The young couple will take up life's battle on the Zerrusen farm.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Zerrusen of St. Francis township, is a young man and farmer of sterling qualities, who served his country faithfully in Camp Taylor, Ky., from June 8th, 1918, until Dec. 15th 1918, when he was honorably discharged, and the bride is the eldest daughter of Wm. G. Pruemer and wife, who is Supervisor of St. Francis township, a popular young lady. Both rank high in social and church circles.
