William Pruemer Dies At Age 95

William G. Pruemer, age 95, of St. Francis Township, a former Effingham County supervisor and treasurer, died at the home of his son, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pruemer Sunday, January 29th. He had been in failing in health since a year ago in September.

Mr. Pruemer was a retired farmer. He always enjoyed going to the Old Settlers Reunion and missed for the first time in September because of illness.

He was born Sept. 23, 1871 in St. Francis township, the son of John and Elizabeth Schoenhoff Preumer. He was the last surviving member of his family.

He married the former Anna Deters who died in 1929.

He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Ferd (Mary) Zerrusen, Teutopolis; Mrs. Alf (Helen) Fuesting, Effingham; Miss Catherine Pruemer, St. Francis; and Miss Ann Pruemer, Hollywood ,Calif.; sons, Ben of Effingham and Henry William Jr., and John, all of St. Francis; 27 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by a brother, John and sisters Mrs. Tony (Elizabeth) Deters, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Hoelscher, Mrs. Herman (Mary) Westendorf, and Mrs. Ben (Anna) Westendorf.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a. m. Thursday in St. Francis church with burial in the church cemetery. The rosary was recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Habing funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren Arthur and Norman Fuesting, Jerry and Tom Pruemer, Adolph Zerrusen and Art Pruemer.

His daughter Ann, of Calif. will not be able to attend the funeral.
