Albert Deters dies at 81

Albert J. Deters, 81, of Teutopolis died at 12:50 a.m. June 1 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Teutopolis, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bauer Funeral Home, Teutopolis, with a parish rosary at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m.

Mr. Deters was born July 13, 1906, in Effingham County, the son of Anton and Elizabeth (Pruemer) Deters. He married Dorothy Brummer in 1932 in Bishop Creek.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Don H. and Raymond A., both of rural Teutopolis; daughters, Mrs. Ray (Pauletta) Will of Teutopolis, Mrs. Andrew (Betty) Ruholl of Lillyville; sister, Emma Deters of Teutopolis; 19 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers, one sister and one grandchild.
