Albert Carlson

Albert M. Carlson, 88, LeRoy, a retired farmer who formerly lived in Ellsworth, died at 6 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 1975 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bloomington. He had been in failing health for several years.

His funeral was held Tuesday at the Bruce Memorial Home, LeRoy with the Rev. Robert Swain officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

He was born June 8, 1887 at Gillum a son of Charles and Jennie Nelson Carlson. He married Fenella Roberts May 4, 1932 at Bloomington.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Lyle and Kenneth, both of LeRoy; Lowell, Lexington and Darrel, Normal; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Cooper and Miss Alice Carlson, both of St. Ann, Mo; a brother, Andrew Carlson, a resident of DeWitt Co. Nursing Home, Hallsville; a sister Mrs. Frances Wagers, LeRoy and 12 grandchildren.

Mr. Carlson, who also was employed by Funk Seeds International Inc., Bloomington for 13 years, retired in 1956.

He was a W.W. I veteran, a member of the American Legion, the Modern Wooden Lodge and a former member of the rural Ellsworth Board of Education. He was a member of the First United Church of Ellsworth.

Organist was Mrs. Mary Lou Munster. Casket bearers were Verdon Cox, Clayton Cox, Delmar Carlson, Donald Carlson, Elwood Carlson and Richard Wagers.
